Customers in the United States have swept the next-gen Acura TLX off the showroom floors despite the hefty price bump, so the circa-$50,000 Type S edition set for launch in May is at no risk of being unpopular.
The Type S is the most powerful and the richest trim level there is. It includes a special radiator grille, redesigned bumpers, rear spoiler and side sills, and 20-inch wheels. Interior amenities comprise 16-way adjustable seats, an infotainment system with satellite navigation, a powerful audio set, and a wireless charger.
A 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 handles the propulsion with 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 480 Nm (356 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission benefits from individual axle couplings and drives all four wheels.
