Video: Acura TLX Type S tests its mettle against a G70 and a Stinger GT

Here is a very interesting drag race exposing the strengths and weaknesses of what looks like three identical sedans. All three pack twin-turbo V6s rated about the same, automatic transmissions, and AWD. They also cost within U.S. $45,000 - $50,000. How do they match up?

Before you hit Play, consider the following nuances. The Kia Stinger GT AWD and the Genesis G70 3.3 T AWD are technically twins, but the former makes 372 PS (367 hp / 274 kW), while the latter makes 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW). More importantly, the latter weighs less than its two rivals.

The Acura TLX Type S is very similar to the competition, but slightly less powerful at 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and weighs 136 kg (300 lbs) more than the Genesis. It remains to be seen whether two additional gears in the automatic transmission can compensate for these drawbacks.
