According to Automotive News quoting one of the executives of the Acura brand, the company is considering an electric expansion of its Type S performance vehicle lineup. The ZDX model shown below is expected to be the first to switch to battery power.
According to Emile Korkor, Assistant VP of Acura National Sales, even when the entire Type S lineup will be electrified it will remain oriented towards sports car enthusiasts top to bottom. This means that every new Acura car may get a Type S version, and it will be sporty enough to warrant that badge.
To differentiate itself from the competitors in the EV market, Acura will prioritize character and driving dynamics over sheer acceleration performance. As such, we should be looking for suspension improvements first and foremost.
