Acura has come to the Monterey Car Week to unveil its first mass-produced electric vehicle, the ZDX. The sales will begin in early 2024 from $60,000.
The crossover SUV hit the spotlight in two flavors: standard and Type S. Both received a pentagonal faux grille, Jewel Eye headlights with Chicane DRLs, and wheels sized up to 22 inches in diameter.
Inside, the driver gets to look at an 11-inch digital dash screen accompanied by an 11.3-inch multimedia display. A safety package with smart assist features is included in the standard spec, as is an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
In its simplest version called ‘A-Spec’, the Acura ZDX relies on a single 340-PS (335-hp / 250-kW) electric motor driving the rear wheels. It gets 523 km (325 miles) of EPA-rated range in this spec. The Type S uses dual motors jointly rated at 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and has 507 km (315 miles) of range per charge. The acceleration numbers are pending.
