Large Huawei SUV shows up on patent images

AITO, a car sub-brand owned by Chinese tech corporation Huawei, will introduce a full-size SUV named M7 before the end of the year, AutoHome.cn reports along with revealing a handful of images of the car.

At 5,020x1,945x1,775 millimeters large (L/W/H) with 2,820 mm of wheelbase, the M7 comes close to vehicles like the Audi Q7 in terms of size. It rides on 20-inch wheels and is shown as a six-seater.

A petrol turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood exerts 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW), which it uses to charge up the main traction battery. The wheels are driven exclusively by a Huawei electric motor rated at 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW). Other specifications remain to be revealed.

Earlier on, AITO unveiled a smaller SUV for China named the M5 (see video). Like its larger cousin, the M5 is a range-extender hybrid, but dual motors enable it to drive the wheels with up to 503 PS (496 hp / 370 kW). The most powerful spec can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.
