The high-tech Aito M9 car co-designed between Huawei and Ceres has officially gone on sale in China priced between 469,800 and 569,800 Yuan, AutoHome reports. That’s roughly 30,000 Yuan less than the company said it would cost when it opened pre-orders.
The crossover SUV is 5,230 mm (204.3 inches) long with 3,110 mm (121.5 inches) between the axles and a low drag ratio of 0.264. In its most basic version, it utilizes two motors to drive the wheels with 496 PS (489 hp / 350 kW). A 1.5-liter engine generates some extra electric power and the batteries come in two sizes – 42 and 52 kilowatt-hours. The all-electric range with the bigger battery on board reaches 275 km (170 miles). A full gas tank extends it to 1,400 km (870 miles). The 0-100 km/h sprint time is 4.9 seconds.
A more expensive version is available as well that ditches the gas engine in favor of a larger 97-kWh battery and 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW). This one sprints in 4.3 seconds, but doesn’t go any farther than 630 km (391 miles) on a charge.
It is official that the Aito M9 is a six-seater with no other options. The automaker promises such premium features as air suspension and pixel LED animation in the headlights. The interior gets seven displays: three on the dash sized from 12.3 to 16 inches large and four more for the passengers in the back rows. A 75-inch projected HUD is also on the list.
Huawei proudly points out that it has designed the entire electronics and software for the car, as well as its 25-speaker audio system.
