Alfa Romeo has come to the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland with a hybrid-powered mini-SUV concept named “Tonale”. The car will be marketed as a cheaper alternative to the Stelvio model.
On the outside, the new Alfa Romeo Tonale looks quite interesting and unlike what we have seen before. Its front fascia leans forward, the headlights are hidden inside a niche between the bumper and the hood, and the taillights are also obscured from view in a similar fashion.
The prototype vehicle sports frameless doors with their handles concealed in the pillars, but whether this feature will make it into series remains unknown. The rear window is reclined low, lending the car a characteristic modern coupe-SUV appearance, but you would do well not to be confused by looks.
In its production version, the Alfa Romeo Tonale will ship with the same plug-in hybrid drivetrain that the new Jeep Renegade comes with. Actually, it seems likely that the new Italian mini-SUV uses the Renegade chassis.
