Alfa Romeo racecar fails a mandatory crash test

The Alfa Romeo F1 racing team faced an unexpected complication while getting their vehicle ready for the next season: their brand-new, only-just-created chassis was completely destroyed in a crash test deemed mandatory by the FIA.

According to reports, the new platform disintegrated almost completely upon hitting a hard obstacle, leaving the team severely inconvenienced with several weeks behind the preparation schedule.

Each F1 participant team must submit its car for a series of 15 crash tests as soon as possible in order to qualify for the next testing stage, which begins on February 19, 2020.
