The management of Alfa Romeo has reached a decision to start the development of a brand-new sports car, an unofficial source claims. The vehicle goes under the provisional index of 6C.
The new car is expected to debut in 2019 and reach the mass market in another year. Of course, none of this has been made official so far, but industry-savvy professionals tend to believe that the high-end Alfa Romeo 6C Quadrifoglio (if that’s what it will be called) is going to get a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 510 hp.
Another bit of speculation concerns a new flagship crossover SUV the company is said to be working on right now. It is going to be positioned above Stelvio, have a hybrid engine and face competition from the Audi 7, Volvo XC90, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
Whatever the case is, chances are we won’t be seeing it until 2020.
