This 1969 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato R is slated to go on sale on January 27 with an expected winning bid between $120,000 and $150,000, which isn’t much for an exotic like this.
Zagato produced the model in 1969–1975 – watch the attached video for a more detailed overview. This particular example was finished in pale yellow with a brown interior. It is a two-seater with a spacious trunk behind the seats.
The 1.3-liter engine rated at 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW) that the car originally shipped with was replaced with a 1.6-liter mill rated at 110 PS (109 hp / 82 kW) in 1972. The gearbox is five-speed manual. However, this specific coupe was further tuned to correspond to the GTA-R specification. According to the owner’s request, Alfaholics swapped the engine mentioned above for a still more recent 2.1-liter unit capable of roughly 220 PS (217 hp / 160 kW).
