Alfa Romeo is an automobile marque commonly associated with light passenger cars, but there was a time when it made vans, too. One of them will soon go on sale at Gooding soon. The seller claims it was used as a technical assistance vehicle by the Moto Villa team that dominated the Italy Motocross Championship back in the 1970s.
Dubbed the Alfa Romeo F12 Furgone, the van saw the light of the day in 1973. Once the racing team stopped using it, it was discarded and went on to sit in a garage for decades. Only in 2016 did a car collector buy it out to conduct a full restoration.
The exotic microbus utilizes a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine in tandem with a four-speed manual transmission. The auction holder hopes to sell it for at least $130,000.
