Stellantis has signed an agreement in CATL that envisions the construction of a lithium-iron-phosphate battery manufacturing plant in Zaragoza, Spain.
The facility is envisioned as a carbon-neutral and is projected to cost €4.1 billion. The investors expect it to become operational in late 2026 and produce up to 50 Gigawatt-hours of battery cells per year.
The Zaragoza industrial site will also help Stellantis progress on its way to full carbon neutrality by 2038.
