This rally-prepped Alfa Romeo classic can be yours

An Alfa Romeo Alfetta hatchback upgraded to the GT GR.2 spec for Rally Group 2 races 47 years ago is currently on sale in Europe. Prices are available upon request only.

Alfa Romeo and its Autodelta division made only nine such cars back in the era, out of which only two survived to this day. Most were given the usual red paintjob, but this one received a special Giallo Piper finish. Once piloted by the famous Francesco ‘Chicco’ Svizzero, it was later nicknamed Ex Chicco Svizzero.

A glance at the exterior reveals widened wheel arches, lots of extra lights and new body kit, hood cover and wheels. Crack open the door to discover a roll cage, lightweight seats, a sports steering wheel and a rally dashboard. The OEM intercom radio and fire extinguishing system are still present, too.

Power comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine partnered with a five-speed manual transmission. The listing also mentions Koni shocks and Lockheed brakes, but fails to reveal any other specifics. It is also unclear whether the car is, or can be made, street-legal.
