In early 2021, Italian tuner Automobili Totem created some ripples when it unveiled its gorgeous Alfa Romeo Giulia restomod complete with a carbon-fiber body and an all-electric powertrain (you can see it on the first photo). Now, the same company announced an ICE version of it.
The new Totem GT Super uses a transplanted twin-turbo V6 of the Giulia GTA, which normally pumps out 540 PS (533 hp / 397 kW). Customers can specify a boost to 560, 575 or even 620 metric horsepower (552, 567 or 612 hp; 412, 423 or 456 kW, respectively). A ZF automatic transmission will deliver the torque to the wheels in any case.
Thanks to launch control, the ICE restomod needs 3.2 seconds for its standard sprint, lagging one-third of a second behind its battery counterpart. The reason is likely the torque, which amounts to 940 Nm (693 lb-ft) in the electric version and is available straight away. The ICE engine isn’t far behind with 790 Nm (583 lb-ft), but needs time to spin up.
Other than that, it is still the same Alfa 1300/1600 GT Junior Coupe restomod with chassis reinforcements, dual-wishbone suspension on both axles, and an all-carbon body. Totem will be making 20 units of it priced from €460,000 (the EV starts slightly lower at €430,000).
