The Alfa Romeo Giulia has a high-end Quadrifoglio version outfitted with a more potent engine and sporting a bolder exterior. AutoTopNL decided to see whether it would deliver on its rated top speed of 307 km/h (191 mph).
The sports sedan uses a 2.9-liter V6 with dual turbochargers driving the output to 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The standard sprint time is 3.9 seconds, the transmission is eight-speed automatic, and the drive is on the rear axle.
On the German autobahn, the test driver did his best to take the Quadrifoglio to its ultimate speed. Watch and find out if he succeeded or read on for spoilers. Long story short, the best result he managed was 278 km/h (172.7 mph) – not too shabby at all, but still a bit short of the official rating.
