Alfa Romeo celebrates 100 years of the Quadrifoglio

Long ago, in the distant year 1923, racing driver Ugo Sivocci put a quadrifoglio (Italian for ‘four-leaf clover’) sticker on his Alfa Romeo RL and proceeded to win the race. The company has used it ever since, and is now looking back at a century in the making.

To mark the occasion, the automaker has refreshed its Quadrifoglio and Auto Delta logos to meet the requirements of the time. The celebrations will continue throughout the year, with a meetup in the Alfa Romeo Museum scheduled for March 5 and a car parade set to take place on June 25, 2023.

Auto Delta was an independent company that specialized in tuning Alfa Romeo cars until it eventually joined the carmaker as its motorsports department. Later on, it produced the famous 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA and a number of endurance-racing prototypes, including some for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Giulia SWB shown in the video below was a one-off custom design built by the company with the Giulia Quadrifoglio as the starting point. It is currently the latest Alfa Romeo to wear the four-leaf clover badge.
