According to Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato, the company plans to introduce three new vehicles until 2026 that will go on sale in ICE and EV variants. The next generation of the Giulia sedan will be one of them, and it will be running on the same Stellantis platform as the recently unveiled Dodge Charger Daytona (see the gallery below).
Before anything else, the Italian brand will be unveiling a compact-sized Milano SUV on April 10, 2024. It will be a same-class clone of the Jeep Avenger and ship with a wide variety of powertrains to choose from, including all-electric. It will be Alfa Romeo’s first crossover utility vehicle running on electricity alone.
The next-gen Stelvio is set to debut in 2025. It will also be based on a Stellantis platform and will get hybrid and all-electric versions. In 2026, the second generation of the Giulia sedan is scheduled to reach the showrooms. According to Motor1, Imparato said that the design phase was nearly over and called the car “a bomb.”
It would make sense for the new Giulia to look as little as the Charger as possible. Thankfully, Imparato says, the STLA Large platform is very flexible and allows for drastically different designs. It’s possible that Alpha Romeo will want to get rid of the muscle car’s three-space design in favor of a more liftback-like appearance, or perhaps a four-door coupe.
All new Alfa Romeo vehicles will be obtainable with both engines and motors. That said, the Italian company is still resolute that it must stop ICE car production around 2027 and focus exclusively on all-electric vehicles.
