The latest episode of Carwow gives us the answer to whether the BMW M4 CSL can outrun the lighter Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA on a quarter-mile long, asphalt-paved drag strip.
Powering the M4 CSL is a three-liter inline-six engine turbocharged to 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission drives the rear wheels.
In turn, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA uses a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 to produce 540 PS (533 hp / 397 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). The drive is also on the rear axle, and what the car may lack in power it torque it compensates with its significantly lower curb weight.
But do you think the weight difference will be enough to outpace such a formidable competitor as the M4 CSL? Only one way to find out!
