After unveiling the compact-sized Tonale CUV, Alfa Romeo switched attention to brushing up the Stelvio ever so slightly, despite the model being five years old and perhaps due a second generation.
Multiple prototypes of the SUV were spotted in Italy the other day looking a bit like the Giulia sedan, which is technically related to the Stelvio. Similarities extend as far as the exterior paint, black wheels, and Estrema badges on the front fenders. It looks like “Estrema”, which is Italian for “extreme”, will be a special version of the Stelvio and the latest Giulia. Whether it implies a power boost or just a cosmetic upgrade remains to be revealed, though.
The photos show the Stelvio testing with refreshed headlights and a front bumper partially concealed with black tape. Overall, its front and rear ends look evolved from the Stelvio Veloce. Both models could end up receiving digital dashboards, like the one installed on the more affordable Tonale.
