FCA Heritage restores a classic Alfa Romeo SZ

The Alfa Romeo SZ was originally introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in the distant year 1989, with the production beginning shortly afterwards. Until now, the model has been considered one of the Italian brand’s most exclusive. FCA Heritage, a division of Stellantis, just brought one example of it back to life.

The photos depict a vivid red ZS coupe. The restoration team say they had to tear the whole body down to the last screw, paint it anew, and re-trim the interior. Nothing is said about the powertrain, but we would imagine the stock 3.0-liter V6 overhauled as well. When it was new, the engine was linked to a five-speed manual gearbox and produced 209 PS (206 hp / 154 kW). The car could sprint 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in seven seconds.

As a side note, Alfa Romeo also offered a convertible variant of the ZS, which was identical in terms of tech but slightly less dynamic.
