Photos showing the Tonale SUV that Alfa Romeo had planned to release no sooner than 2022 have somehow made it to the Internet. All we know right now is that the SUV will be the Italian luxury carmaker’s first hybrid car and get a Level 3 self-driving tech, like the latest Audi A8.
Judging by the blacked out windows, the vehicle depicted here is a mock-up that nonetheless strives to be as detailed and elaborate as the real thing. Unlike the concept car demonstrated at the latest Geneva show, this one has mundane door handles, larger headlights, and regular mirrors instead of video cameras. The proportions are otherwide unchanged, and the front bumper slits are still present.
Aside from the new Tonale, Alfa Romeo is currently working on updating its Giulia, Giulietta, and Stelvio models. It is also planning to refresh the 8C Competizione and make the GTC Coupe a hybrid.
