During a recent meeting between Alfa Romeo CEO and the managers of the carmaker’s factory in Italy, a statement was made that the upcoming Tonale SUV will be a plug-in hybrid.
No other details have been revealed. Earlier unconfirmed reports claimed that the Tonale would be based on the same platform as the Jeep Compass, which is a design natively suited to part-electric powertrains.
It is expected that the cope-like soft-roader will be closely based on its concept version featured in the gallery and the video here. Having said that, the radiator grille, the lights all around and the profile outline will likely be tweaked a bit before launch.
The official premiere should take place in early 2022.
