Alfa Romeo to design 5 new cars in 5 years

According to Automotive News Europe quoting Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato, the Italian automaker will be introducing five new models before 2026, coming out with one new car every year.

The first one will be the Tonale SUV featured in our gallery and the video here. The hybrid crossover SUV had originally been intended for production later this year, but the executives reportedly did not like the performance of the electric part of the system, and requested a redesign. The new launch date is set for March 2022, and actual production may begin in summer or close.

The other four new models remain secret, but rumors strongly suggest one of them is a compact crossover SUV named Brennero. Allegedly, it will be based on the same STLA Small platform as the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X. A flagship saloon named GTV is also expected.
