Alpha previews yet another concept car in 3D, wants your pre-order money

U.S.-based startup automaker Alpha Motor Company has revealed the Saga Estate, the latest addition to the Saga family that already includes a sedan and its power-boosted ‘Supersaga’ variant.

The Saga Estate is being advertised as a crosswagon for active leisure and travel enthusiasts. It comes in at 4,850 mm (189.5 in) long, 1,970 mm (77 in) wide and 1,460 mm (57 in) tall. The ground clearance is unknown, but is said to be by 50 mm (2 inches) greater than that of the sedan. The trunk volume should exceed 990 liters (35 cubic feet), the company says.

The Estate sports aluminum bodywork and comes powered by a duo of electric motors that take it from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.3 seconds. It weighs in at 2,050 kg (4,520 lbs) and comes equipped with an 85-kWh battery rated at 483 km (300 miles) of range. Charging from empty to 80% full takes one hour.

Customers can opt for larger rims sized up to 20 inches across to replace the standard 17-inch ones. The base trim level looks like a regular estate car, while higher trims introduce it to mud tires, bull bars and extra LED lighting.

Prices are pending, but you can already leave a pre-order.

Another Alpha-badged vehicle – the Ace coupe – has also debuted in a number of versions including standard, performance and off-road. Like the other vehicles designed by the startup, it had retro-inspired looks.
