American startup unveils a truck for long trips

U.S.-based automotive startup Alpha Motor has unveiled another retro-inspired pickup truck planned for production, the Nightwolf. It is based on the company’s another still-to-be-released vehicle, the Wolf, and looks like a capable long-hauler thanks to lots of extra equipment. You can already preorder it, although when (or even if) it gets released remains to be seen.

The biggest addition is a canopy, which doubles as a structural part for attaching extra luggage boxes for the roof. You get 83 liters (3 cubic feet) of extra storage space and can attach more at the sides. A solar panel array on the roof will restore enough battery power for another 30 km (18 miles) of driving or provide power to camping equipment, Alpha Motor says.

The company calls the Nightwolf package ‘basic’, arguing that it provides the foundation for further, more specialized modifications.

Prices remain to be announced. The standard Wolf Single Cab starts from U.S. $46,000.
