Shortly after SpaceX announced a new Starlink service targeting motorhomes and RVs, campervan manufacturer Alphavan announced the coming of the technology to its own product range. The option will appear in the list soon.
Customers are advised that StarLink has a few limitations intrinsic to the satellite technology, such as being inoperable while the vehicle is being driven and suffering from connection quality issues in populated areas and rush hours. Other than that, it is a viable solution for connecting with rest of the world from remote locations.
Prices remain to be announced, but the company says it will contain everything necessary for retrofitting your van with satellite Internet equipment. Introducing an option like this will further cement Alphavan’s position as the innovator of the camper market. The company has been offering smart home solutions for its campers for a long time now.
