Alpina XB7 gets a facelift shortly after the BMW X7 it’s based on

Hardly had BMW unveiled its refreshed X7 (see vide) when Alpina rolled out its own upmarket take on the luxury SUV.

Of course, the famous BMW tuner could not leave its XB7 flagship without a number of unique distinguishing features, like a backlit radiator grille and 21-inch wheels (23-inch, 20-spoke set available at a premium). The rear end has also been redesigned, by the look of it, but we only have one photo to base our assumptions on.

The driver benefits from a more sophisticated infotainment system and a BMW parking assist feature included by default. Other highlights include a steering wheel with contrasting stitching and an illuminated gear selector.

Power comes from the same 4.4-liter V8 with a mild-hybrid add-n, but the output now amounts to 621 PS (612 hp / 457 kW), a sizeable improvement over the stock 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW). Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.2 seconds, and the top speed lies as high as 290 km/h (180 mph).
