Alpine Alpenglow drops cover ahead of Paris show premiere

Barely had Alpine announced a design study called the Alpenglow when the car received a full introduction. We will be able to see it live at the impending Paris Motor Show, but in the meantime, let us take a close look.

When the sun sets behind a mountain range, an afterglow effect known as the alpenglow manifests sometimes – a red glare near the horizon. The headlamps of Alpine’s latest concept car capture just that effect. Per the manufacturer, the red streak is supposed to symbolize ‘the dawn of a new era for Alpine.’

The Alpenglow is a racing single-seat supercar based on a carbon-fiber monocoque and equipped with a steering yoke. Contrary to the expectations of most of us, it is not battery-electric: rather, the powertrain is based on a hydrogen-burning combustion engine. This still makes it cleaner than any traditional ICE car.

For the rest of the details, Alpine kindly asks us to wait for the live debut.
