Alpine A110 Color Edition dials yellow up to 11

The French-made mid-engine sports car is now available in another special version called ‘Color Edition’. The color is Sunflower Yellow, and prices begin from €71,000.

The cheerful livery pays homage to its historic predecessor – the Jaune Tournesol, but it uses a different mixture of chemicals.

Black badges and décor throughout the body cater for contrast, as do the Anthracite Grey brake calipers, carbon-fiber roof (optional), and grey stitching inside the cabin. The seats come wrapped in Dinamica microfiber.

From the technical point of view, the Color Edition builds upon the A110S spec. It also produces 292 hp (218 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) and also sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds. Unlike the A110S, though, the Color Edition has stiff motorsports-grade suspension springs.

The special series will remain on sale until the end of 2020, after which it will abruptly disappear from the market. The carmaker likens this approach to that of the fashion industry, where collections get updated annually. The Color Edition will later re-emerge in a different hue and with a different set of options.

In related news, a whole new customization program has been launched called Atelier Alpine. Starting today, all those buying an Alpine vehicle may choose from 29 available paints, plenty of wheel designs, and quite a few brake caliper colors.
