Alpine A110 Legende GT debuts in an upmarket form

When Alpine unveiled its A110 Legende GT Coupe last spring (see video), all 400 units were quickly swept off the showroom floors despite the €69,300 starting price. A new version comes out now, even rarer and more expensive.

Alpine puts an emphasis on the elegance, refinement and Gran Turismo spirit inherent in the new Legende GT. The 1.8-liter turbocharged four-pot was massaged to deliver 292 PS (288 hp / 215 kW) instead of the usual 252 PS (249 hp / 185 kW), as well as 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. This is actually equal to the output of the top A100S spec.

As a result, the car with its 1,134 kg (2,500 lbs) of curb weight manages to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, just like the A100S and 0.1 s faster than its predecessor from last year. The top speed lies at 250 km/h (155 mph), as usual, and a seven-speed DCT delivers the torque to the rear.

The see-through LED taillights remain unchanged, while the exhaust tips now looks the same as on the S model. The grey paint scheme is now matte, and there is also blue, but not black. “Diamond” wheels and golden-hued brake calipers are brand new.

Inside, you can specify black or amber leather for the bucket seats and the door panels. The stitching can be brown or grey, and the décor either copper-hued or made of naked carbon fiber. A special plaque at the lower center console bears the chassis number.

A total of 300 such coupes will be produced and sold starting from €71,600 in France; pre-ordering is already open.
