Alpine mentioned over a year ago that it would go all-electric by 2030, starting with the launch of a new hatchback and crossover SUV in a couple of years. In the meantime, however, the company keeps experimenting with what it has right now. Meet the A110 E-ternity, an electric design study that you won’t be driving anytime soon.
The convertible comes equipped with a removable roof section, the driver’s personal tablet instead of a multimedia screen in the middle, and a fully electric powertrain. The latter necessitated a major redesign of the A110 platform, with the engineering crew ultimately putting four battery packs at the front end and eight at the rear end.
The internals came from the Renault Megane E-Tech. Like that car, the E-ternity produces 242 PS (239 hp / 178 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque, sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
