Aptera Sol Gamma debuts with up to 1,000 miles of (largely free) range

Aptera has revealed the Gamma iteration of its Aptera Sol EV. The car is technically still a concept, but the company claims its body design is final and production-ready.

The work on the car, which actively uses solar panels and is the longest-range model in the Aptera lineup, continues. The company expects to reveal a production candidate in late 2022 and put it into mass production next year.

The Gamma has solar power elements on the roof and the front fascia. It can still be charged from regular sources, and Aptera says it will be maintaining a number of solar charging stations for that purpose.

Curiously enough, it looks like you can knock near the sunroof to open the door and get inside. It is unknown whether this feature will be implemented in the final version of the car. What we do know is that the manufacturer plans to offer the Gamma in a variety of battery sizes rated from 250 to 1000 miles of range (402 – 1,609 kilometers).
