Aston Martin works on a junior hypercar model

According to Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer, the company plans to build a new hypercar which would occupy a market niche below the previously debuted Valkyrie. With a somewhat less powerful engine on board, it’s mainly going to compete with such models the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 – neither of which is even produced anymore, by the way.

Aston Martin hopes to use the experience gained during the production of Valkyrie for the development of this junior model. Which essentially means that the car is also going to be an all-carbon monocoque packed with Formula One equipment and tech.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a highly customer-oriented vehicle which is currently being produced in a limited series of just 150 units. It is driven by a 1,130-horsepower engine which accelerates it 0-320 km/h (0-200 mph) over the course of mere ten seconds.

The company invites customers to personalize their Aston Martin Valkyrie ride in almost every aspect imaginable, and takes numerous parameters into account during production, such as the driver’s body proportions and weight.
