Bonhams Auctions will hold a sale for a one-of-a-kind Aston Martin DB5 sports vehicle piloted by James Bond in a 1995 GoldenEye movie. The end price is estimated between £1.2 and £1.6 million.
The DB5 is well-known to all fans of the movie where the Agent 007 had got himself in a challenging car chase in Monaco mountains. Bonhams admits that the price estimations mostly rely on the huge popularity of the spy movie hero, rather than on any real characteristics of the vehicle.
Speaking of which, the sports car saw the daylight in 1965 and came equipped with a four-liter gasoline engine good for 285 hp. It accelerated 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in over 6 seconds and could eventually reach 230 km/h (143 mph).
This is not the first time this particular Aston Martin DB5 goes up on an auction sale. Businessman Max Reid purchased it for U.S. $200,000 seventeen years ago.
The Agent 007 drove quite a few cars throughout the series. Aston Martin produced a batch of 10 DB10 vehicles especially for the filming of the 2015 Spectre, but out of those, seven ended up totaled during the shoot. Perhaps we’ll be seeing the remaining three on sale sometime…
