Aston Martin unveils the extreme DB11 AMR coupe

Shortly following an intriguing teaser reveal, Aston Martin has brought its special-series DB11 AMR performance coupe under the spotlight. The premiere event took place in Nürburgring, Germany and celebrated the opening of the Aston Martin Racing Performance Center, where the German luxury vehicle manufacturer plans to design and build its extreme performance models.

On the outside, the DB11 AMR sports tinted headlights with LED contour accentuation as well as darkened radiator grille and exhaust pipes. The car makes use of carbon body kit parts and features chamois-trimmed interior.

The hood cover lifts to reveal an optimized V12 engine with more than five liters of displacement room at its disposal. It now offers approx. 640 hp (477 kW) in terms of raw performance, but still has 700 Nm (516 lb·ft) of torque.

The ‘hot’ coupe also comes equipped with an improved automatic transmission and a new exhaust system that’s supposed to command an even more impressive ‘voice’ than its predecessor did. Suspension has also been reworked to allow for more responsive steering.

The car accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and may eventually hit 335 km/h when moving in a straight line – a substantial improvement upon the regular Aston Martin coupe.

Customers in Great Britain may purchase the new DB11 AMR at the entry price of £175,000. The top trim level would be £202,000.
