We are all used to seeing heavy armored SUVs and luxury sedans, but what about armor-clad luxury coupes? Are they a thing? Apparently, yes. Trasco, a company specializing in armored vehicle production, has released a special edition of the Aston Martin DB11 with gunfire, kidnapping, car-jacking and theft protection.
To accomplish this, the engineers laid the interior of the car with ballistic steel / composite material plating and reinforce the windows enough for them to withstand pistol shots. As a result, the car has been certified to Level 4 Armoring.
Despite all of the above, the vehicle only gained 150 kg (331 lb) of weight and reportedly lost none of its performance characteristics. It isn’t hard to believe, given that its engine is a power-packed V12 with 600 hp (450 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb·ft) of torque.
