Formula One pilots test out Agent 007’s own DB5

With the big screen premiere of the 25th James Bond movie, Aston Martin decided to bolster public interest to the movie starring its DB5, Superleggera and Valhalla models and invited two Formula One drivers to have some track day fun.

Directed by stunt professional Mark Higgins, the famous pilots were supposed to do a controlled drift first and cook up some donuts second. Lance Stroll was first to attempt the exercises, but never quite managed the controlled drift part. Award-winning Sebastian Vettel did considerably better. Both succeeded in making some donuts, although it showed that neither was a pro drifter.

Aston Martin produced its first DB5 continuation replica in 2020. The car is heavily James Bond-themed and comes equipped with numerous (fake) spy gadgets, like knives sticking out of wheels, an oil sprayer, a phone, and a smokescreen.
