Aston Martin to mass-produce rare car parts

Aston Martin had originally only intended to manufacture small quantities of spare parts for its automotive classics, but the management ultimately decided to industrialize the process and increase volumes.

The Continuation program will now churn out new cylinder heads and assemblies, transmission parts and other key elements still in demand among the owners of retro cars. All components will be produced according to their original blueprints and specifications, some of which Aston Martin had to recover from its partner companies.

ZF, the transmission manufacturer and partner of Aston Martin, will officially relaunch the production of old-timer transmissions for such classics as the DB4, DB5, DB6 and V8. The list may be expanded later on.

Aston Martin has launched its Continuation program to provide extended support to its older car models and help enthusiasts procure parts for restoration projects (see video). The initiative brought back to life an ultra-rare 1959 DB4 GT three years ago, among other classics.
