Rare Aston Martin gets reimagined as a $1M electric vehicle

UK-based auto restoration shop Lunaz has announced a new electrification project: the company will build several battery-powered Aston Martin DB6 restomods priced from a rough equivalent of $1,000,000 USD.

Compared to the donor vehicle tracing its history back to 1965–1970, the electric one looks identical except for a missing tailpipe. Everything else is carefully preserved: even the charging port resides behind the fuel door.

In its original form, the DB6 relies on a naturally aspirated inline six-cylinder engine with four liters of displacement and 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW). The restomod takes advantage of a single electric motor rated at 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW). Batteries are available in sizes ranging from 80 to 120 kilowatt-hours, and the driving range maxes out at 410 km (255 miles).

The tuner claims that the car is a perfect fit for daily driving and travels, largely thanks to improved suspension, steering and braking. An infotainment system with Wi-Fi and satellite navigation is also provided for comfort.

Deliveries are expected to begin in a few years from now. In the meantime, Lunaz will continue working on the Aston Martin DB4 and DB5. The company offers similar EV conversions for the Range Rover, Rolls-Royce Phantom V, Rolls-Royce Cloud, and other automotive classics.
