Aston Martin launches two James Bond-themed special editions

The British super sports car maker has unveiled particularly exotic and expensive versions of the Vantage and DBS Superleggera ahead of the November premiere of ‘No Time to Die’, the 25th entry in the James Bond movie franchise that stars a DB5, a V8, a state-of-the-art DBS Superleggera, and a mid-engined Valhalla hypercar.

The Vantage 007 Edition gets styled after the V8 model that first starred in the 1987 movie ‘The Living Daylights’. It sports a similar radiator grille, a rear diffuser with a yellow dash highlighting it, and a set of skis with a cover (optional). The body comes painted Cumberland Grey. The black leather-trimmed cabin has ‘forte’ captions embroidered into the seats, evoking memories of the cello chase scene from the movie.

There are dark chrome inserts throughout, as well as special upholstery, carbon-fiber seat backs, and numbers ‘007’ and ‘96.60’ (the latter refers to the radio frequency the Russian police uses to communicate in the movie). Multiple spy gadgets are referenced via images, and the gear selector boasts crosshairs for decoration. Manual and automatic transmissions are available, and the production run is limited to 100 units.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera 007 Edition is even rarer than that with only 25 units in the production queue. Its twin-turbo’d 5.2-liter V12 churns out 715 PS (526 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The Ceramic Grey body looks gorgeous juxtaposed against black carbon-fiber roof, mirrors, splitter, diffuser and rear wing. Plaques reading ‘007’ can be seen both outside and inside, and the supercar rides on 21-inch Y-Spoke rims sporting Black Polished finish. The cabin makes extensive use of leather with red accents and special badges on the side sills.

The DBS Superleggera 007 Edition will start from £279,000 and the Vantage 007 Edition from £161,000 when both go on sale in 2021.
