Aston Martin adds a dozen of novelties to launch schedule

Tobias Moers, CEO of Aston Martin, has announced a plethora of special editions of its various luxury vehicles.

A total of ten new modifications are expected to emerge within the next two years, mostly based on the best-selling DBX SUV (peek inside our gallery and watch the video for a reminder). The specifics remain unknown, but chances are good that the DBX will at least spawn a seven-seater, a coupe-SUV, a hybrid and an all-electric version. The rest remains to be seen.

In other important news, the Lagonda sub-brand that Aston Martin had planned to introduce soon seems to have been shelved for now; no mention of it has been made it the press release.

The British automaker now plans to buy Mercedes-AMG powertrains for its cars. The first hybrid should arrive in three years’ time, followed by the first pure BEV in 2026 or so. Despite the ongoing electrification trend, the company is in no haste to ditch its internal-combustion segment of the market until at least 2030, when these will become outlawed in Great Britain.

Furthermore, the manufacturer claims it will even strive to keep the V12 in the lineup, as long as it can be made compliant with the Euro-7 norms.
