Official: Aston Martin DBX family could expand to six members by 2024

Aston Martin only launched its first crossover SUV – the DBX – last summer, and it is already responsible for more than a half of the marque’s worldwide car sales. It seems that Tobias Moers acknowledges the fact well.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Aston Martin CEO agreed that the DBX evolved into a staple product for the company and a key to its future financial stability. As such, it is all but inevitable that new DBX variants will come out in the next few years to keep the demand high.

Moers confirmed that the first new version would arrive before the end of the year. It will be a mild hybrid armed with a three-liter six-cylinder, nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive system. A high-performance special edition will arrive next year, and a plug-in hybrid variant based on the Mercedes-AMG V8 powertrain will join the lineup in 2023.

Interestingly enough, Moers also mentioned that Aston Martin needed ‘other, more aggressive styles’. Supposing he meant body styles, could this mean the coming of a coupe-like DBX? At any rate, we now know that the DBX family will consist of five or six members by the year 2024, with a hint from Mors that a seven-seater could make the cut, too.
