Carwow has pitted an Aston Martin DBX707 up against a Lamborghini Urus on a quarter-mile strip, and the result was surprising at best.
The Italian luxury SUV comes powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of 640 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs in at roughly 2,220 kilos (4,900 lbs).
In turn, its British rival has the same cylinder configuration and displacement, but benefits from superior 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs barely more at 2,245 kg (4,950 lbs).
Straight from the start, both flagships sail nose-to-nose until the Aston breaks free from pursuit and wins the race with 11.7 seconds on the stopwatch. The Urus comes slightly more than a body length behind it with 12 seconds.
A rolling start yielded the same results: the DBX707 won a couple more races. The Urus claimed its tiny revenge at the brake test, but that was that.
