Automaker Aston Martin has begun assembling the DB707, one of the top performers in the luxury SUV world, at its St. Athan factory in Wales, UK.
The launch was a delayed one, since the company had originally intended to begin production in the first quarter of 2022 and make the first deliveries in early Q2. Customers from 50 countries all over the world will receive their SUVs straight from the factory in Wales.
In case you forgot, the DBX707 utilizes a 4.0-liter Mercedes-Benz V8 engine turbocharged to 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to all four wheels, sending the SUV from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds. For comparison, the stock DBX model is 1.2 slower at the same sprint discipline.
Aston Martin hopes to transition to all-electric and hybrid car production in four years, so chances are good this DBX is one of the marque’s last vehicles running on gas alone.
