Aston Martin DBX707 puts on its best Formula 1 medic uniform

A new Formula 1 season kicks off on Sunday, March 5, with the fans meeting the racers in Bahrain. For its own part, Aston Martin is sending a DBX707 there repurposed into an ambulance racecar.

The SUV stays nearly unchanged from stock except for some added medical equipment and track upgrades. The former includes defibrillators and other reanimation equipment. There are also fire extinguishers on board, and the seats are bucket-shaped as they should be.

The responding crew has full access to the drivers’ biometrical data in real time to get an idea about the seriousness of the situation as soon as something happens. This can help them prepare the necessary tools and medicine in advance, saving precious time.

The Aston Martin DBX707 comes powered by a 4.0-liter V8 rated at 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. It needs 3.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph).
