Aston Martin has released photos evidencing that the company has tweaked the appearance of its V12 Speedster model ever so slightly before approving it into production.
The front bumper now sports a fine mesh where large fins had been intended, and the dual aerodynamic domes at the rear are now opaque rather than transparent.
No rationale is provided for these last-minute changes, and Aston Martin does not specify whether this is what the final production car really looks like. For all we know, final tests may see things reverting to old.
The engine may or may not be tuned prior to production. The show car packed a 5.2-liter V12 TT rated at 700 hp (522 kW) and 753 Nm (555 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed ZF transmission sent the power to the wheels, enabling acceleration from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
The new Barchetta will emerge in a series of 88 units, and shipments will begin in the second half of 2021 starting from £765,000.
