All 249 examples of the Vantage V12 Turbo roadster have been sold via pre-orders and will soon go into production. Actual deliveries are expected to take place before the end of the year.
Powering the marque’s flagship supercar is a 5.2-liter internal combustion engine rated at 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 753 Nm (555 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox directs the torque to the rear wheels, taking the car from zero to 97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.5 seconds. Weighing in at a respectable 1,855 kilograms (4,090 lbs), the roadster can nonetheless accelerate to a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph).
Compared to its coupe counterpart, the Vantage Roadster has 40 mm (1.6 in) of added track width, a radiator grille that’s 25 percent larger, and a revised aerodynamic kit. The side sills, the hood, the fenders and the front bumpers are all made from carbon fiber. To further minimize the weight, Aston Martin uses a light-metal exhaust system and carbon-ceramic brakes. Those who still want more weight reduction may opt for carbon-frame bucket seats.
