Zagato pledges to bring back the Aston Martin Vantage V12

Some of you may still remember the Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato, a strictly limited car series that entered the market eight years ago, based on the iconic DB4 GT Zagato model that dates back to the 1960s. All 150 vehicles were sold out in a matter of hours. Today, Zagato Milano issued a statement saying it wants to resurrect the series.

The second batch of cars - now called the Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage Twins - is scheduled for market release before the end of 2019. The company proudly claims that it is going to be "the most beautiful modern car series to boast retro looks."

Aston Martin will only participate in the project indirectly, while Swiss company Racing AG will handle most of it. Racing AG is AM's major partner in professional motorsports and the co-creator of the Valkyrie hypercar.

Judging by the long name, the series will ship in two configurations: coupe and speedster. Interestingly enough, Aston Martin never mass-produced open cars, so this is going to be its first time. Then again, it is no secret that the Heritage Twins will utilize the platform of the Vanquish Zagato Speedster.

In the meantime, we hope we will be getting more details soon.
