RENNtech gives Aston Martin V8 Vantage a power-up

RENNtech may normally deal exclusively with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but the gorgeous Aston Martin Vantage actually has a Mercedes V8 in its base spec, making developing a power kit for it an easier task.

The coupe comes powered by the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the Mercedes C63s AMG. The latter uses it for 510 hp (380 kW) and 685 Nm (505 lb-ft) of torque, whereas the former squeezes superior 530 hp (395 kW) out of it with the same peak torque. However, after some fiddling with the ECU, an exhaust manifold swap and the addition of sports-grade catalyst unit, the output rises to 615 hp (460 kW) and the torque to 875 Nm (645 lb-ft).

Acceleration times remain undisclosed, but the stock car needs 3.6 seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and maxes out at 314 km/h (195 mph).

The show car in the gallery here boasts Vossen Forged wheels with a bi-color finish, as well as coil-over suspension. The video demonstrates a similarly tuned RENNtech Vantage in a different paint version.
