A 33-year-old Aston Martin V8 Zagato goes up on sale for £530,000

PendineHistoric Cars, a dealer in rare and exclusive vehicles, has announced an auction for a 1986 Aston Martin V8 Zagato. The sports car has changed ownership three times and has spent two decades sitting in its latest owner’s garage. The asking price is £530,000.

This particular car is one out of three pre-production prototypes in existence. Although it should be noted that the production vehicle itself emerged in a series of just 50 units, making this copy all the more exclusive.

The sporty two-door coupe uses the Aston Martin V8 platform, but sports a custom body by Zagato. It packs 436 horsepower (325 kilowatts) and is missing the second seat row.

Other notable features include a roll cage, leather-draped seats, steering wheel, and dashboard, a center console adorned with nutwood inserts, and special plaques highlighting the uniqueness of this copy.

The car has undergone complete restoration in 2009 through 2013.

The production-issue Aston Martin V8 Zagato cost U.S. $156,000 and above that.
